• What are your knowledege and skills about cats and dogs?

My desire to work with dogs and cats is relatively recent. I've always loved these animals but I didn't realize how much I like their contact. At no time, when I was younger, I had considered making it my career. Today, after a successful career as a sexotherapist (I've been working since 2008, I've written two books about how become actor of our sexuality), it's time to change and to do something new!

• Can you take care of all cats and dogs?

Certainly not! I refuse to take care of pets whose health requires care that I cannot manage. I'm not a veterinarian and I know my limits. For example, I can give medication orally to a dog or a cat, but I haven't the skills to inject medication.

Also, I'm careful with cats and dogs who need time to be tamed. I follow their pace and we get to know each other slowly, step by step. For a home sitting for example, several meeting-visit may be necessary before you left.

• How do you explain your rates are more expensive than other cat and dog sitters?

I set prices that seem fair to me for the work I'm offering. 

Unlike other pet sitters, my job is a professional activity and I've independent status. My work is declared which isn't always the case for other pet sitters.

But the main reason concerns the quality of my work. Today, everyone can call himself a pet sitter. Many people, under the pretext that they've a pet and they love animals, easily supplement their income by offering an amateur service. I follow various courses (which have a cost and require time !) which allow me to offer quality work. It's this quality that you pay for and which makes the difference on a daily basis, but also and above all in specific situations... For example, imagine your pet gets injured or chokes. Their health will depend on the actions that the pet sitter will be able (or not!) to provide immediately. Another example : your dog meets another dog during a walk. A qualified pet sitter can detect a potential risky situation based on the dog's behavior. He can therefore manage the situation before it gets out of hand. Experience alone is not a guarantee of professionalism!

• Do you own any pets?

No, I don't. First because I don't have enough space at home (in Brussels anyway) to have a pet. Then, because I don't want to put an animal through long plane journeys (20 hours of flight plus the boat and the train...) when I travel between Brussels and Polynesia. That said, I spent my childhood and adolescence with a Brie Shepherd (tawny color as in the photo below) ; a very affectionate and a little shy dog :-)

I sometimes say to myself that maybe it's because I don't have my own pet that I take so much pleasure in taking care of those who cross my path.
