If you are interested in a massage session for your pet, you can contact me now so that I can notify you once my training is complete.
The benefits are quite similar than human massage. The massage contributes to relaxation, well-being... but not only that ! The massage will :
facilitate the circulation of blood and lymph
relieve muscle and tendon tension
improve your pet's mobility
prepare the animal for physical effort and help to recover
improve the human/animal relationship
The massage is for adults cats and dogs but also for kittens /puppies (having finished growing) or animals in the end of their life.
The benefits of massage are even more important for animals in specific situations : elderly animals or animals that have significant difficulty moving, females that have just given birth, stressed animals (some !), animals that rarely go out, animals that have suffered a surgical intervention (with the veterinarian's approval !)...
But be careful, massage is contraindicated for cat / dog :
having fever (more than 39.5°)
having eaten in the two hours preceding the massage
with open or healing wounds
undergoing chemotherapeutic treatment
with cysts (malignant or benign tumor)
pregnant females
with diarrhea or colitis
having arthritis attack
If in doubt, ask your veterinarian for advice !
The benefits of massage may take time in dogs/cats who aren't used to being touched and/or are unsociable. In this case, the duration of the massage is reduced and several sessions are often necessary so that the animal gets used to the touch and can let itself go.
You must be the pet owner to book a massage.
The massage is a set of techniques that use the hands on your pets entire body (or a part of). The massage is done at your home. It lasts 1 hour (feed back included).
Your role is to prepare your cat/dog by warning it of my arrival and to take care of the other animals present in the house during the session.
Massage doesn't replace veterinary care ! The canine / feline massage practitioner works with the aim of providing comfort and well-being to cats and dogs. He doesn't make a diagnosis, doesn't carry out any osteopathic manipulation, or acts relating to veterinary medicine. The sessions are not for therapeutic purposes.
